Ice Packs:
Use ice therapy after an acute injury, such as a sprain, within 48 hours, to minimise swelling and the manifestation of pain or after activity that irritates a chronic injury, for instance shin splints. Never ice before activities. Ice therapy is most effective immediately following an injury.
Apply ice treatments for a maximum of 20 minutes at a time and keep the injured area elevated above your heart. This aids the reduction of swelling. Never over-ice, too much could do you harm.
|
Heat Packs:
Heat therapy is used to treat chronic conditions to help relax and loosen taut tissues and stimulate blood flow to the area concerned. Heat can be applied before activities that irritate a chronic condition such as muscle strains.
Again, heat treatments should last no longer than 20 minutes, be of moderate temperature and not after activity and never while sleeping.

Personal Care Products:
Some people wish to minimise their exposure to all toxic chemicals and therefore are looking for hypoallergenic, natural, safe, and non-toxic care products. Discuss your needs and history with one of our practitioners to ensure you are advised on the right products. |
Pillows:
We recommend a few pillows depending on your needs and budget. Standard contoured or memory foam types, discuss the thickness required for your frame with a practitioner. |
Resistance Bands:
Used to give you gradual opposition during standard stretching exercises or specifically prescribed ones by your practitioner. You build up through different gauges and therefore resistance. As you get stronger and more flexible. |
Stability Balls:
As your spine needs curvature and to be free of subluxations it needs to be held upright by your muscles. Stability balls help you to train your core abdominal and lower back muscles to hold you skeleton correctly. They can be used for a huge range of exercises at home. |
Supplements/Nutrition:
There are a wide range of supplements and nutritional products in the market place. Discuss your needs with the practitioner and they can recommend a suitable quality product, manufacturer or at least refer you to a re-seller, Dietician, Naturopath or Dietician.
|
Wedges:
Traction wedges are recommended and prescribed by practitioners when there is a need to re-introduce spinal curvature that has been lost through sedentary lifestyle, office work or other reasons. Spinal muscles and ligaments are re-trained. Excellent posture will drive good spinal health. |
