Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis is the most common type of arthritis to affect the body

Contrary to popular opinion, osteoarthritis is not an aging process. Clinically we know that there are two common causes of osteoarthritis;

  1. Trauma to a joint that is left unresolved and uncorrected
  2. Poor posture and joint mechanics

Although it can affect any of the joints in the body it most commonly affects the hips, shoulders, sacroiliac joints, lower back, neck and hands.

Chiropractors are trained to detect osteoarthritis through physical examination and commonly through taking X-Rays. Chiropractors will focus on correcting the areas of misalignment in the body and restore normal joint mechanics and movement to reduce the risk of development and progression of osteoarthritis.
